Good Enough Mother And Memorial Sloan Kettering:
Breast Reconstruction Facebook Chat

A little over 10 years ago,  I was in the middle of a personal maelstrom. I had just lost my job and had made the decision to have a preventive mastectomy.

But that turned out to be one of many, MANY decisions.

Removing my breasts due to disease was one thing; then what?

I talked to a lot of women, many of who were more than happy to share their reconstruction stories with me. I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering before the mastectomy, just to talk over options. There was a lot of information and it was hard to process, frankly.

The last few minutes before I was going into surgery

Ten years later, I am happy, healthy and STRONG! I feel fortunate that I had amazing care from my surgeons at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Living life to the fullest!

That’s why, when the people at Memorial Sloan Kettering asked me to host a discussion about breast reconstruction, I was more than happy to help.

If you or someone you know is facing breast reconstruction or just want to learn more, please join us for an informative, live Facebook Chat.

I will be interviewing Dr. Babak J. Mehrara, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon/Chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Service; William G. Cahan Chair in Surgery and Plastic and Reconstruction Surgeon Dr. Andrea L. Pusic. We will also hear from a patient who has undergone breast reconstruction.

If you would like to tune in (and we would love for you to) please follow this link and register  so that you can take part in this interactive discussion.
