The Power In Choices  (VIDEO)

Hey all! It is another Monday morning and check out how the first one of Spring 2016 is treating us New Yorkers!

What the WHAT?

Anyway, we’re not going let a little snow stop this parade. Slow it down maybe but not stop it entirely.

Today’s Monday Motivation is borne of a conversation I had with a friend this weekend.

As some of you who follow me on social media know, I have just recently returned from Austin, Texas where I, along with my business partner Nicole Sanders of Ladimax Sports And Fitness, just finished running our Ladimax Lifestyle Fitness Retreat House. The Ladimax Lifestyle Fitness Retreat House was a 4-day, 3-night intensive exercise and eating event designed to push women out of their comfort zones, physically. mentally and emotionally.

Needless to say it was a tremendous success.

Peek for yourself!

Now  back to the conversation I was having with a friend. This person is a member of our Ladimax Lifestyle Online Fitness Training. Part of the training is a detailed eating and exercise plan. Recently she said something about the eating plan that sort of surprised me.

She found making the food choices, not to be limiting but empowering.

YES!

Why was there power there? Because she was in control. She was making choices that were best for her in the long term – not just what would momentarily dance on her taste buds. With each meal she became stronger in her resolve.

Then a funny thing happened. She started to feel the same way about people in her life. She was making choices about who to spend time with and who was worth the trouble. That’s not selfish; that’s self-preservation.

And people noticed.

They noticed a shift in her energy. They noticed her being less willing to accept what was happening and more willing to EFFECT it.

Because here’s the thing; why would you expect people to treat you well when you don’t treat yourself well? They are taking cues from you. If you are selective about your food, your friends (the ones who really care) will make sure the places they chose to meet will have options for you.

And dammit you need to be selective about how and with whom you spend your time. Not everyone deserves a spot in your life. Be selective and watch the power shift.

That’s today’s Monday Motivation. Now go forth and make it a great day!

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
