Grace ALWAYS Wins (VIDEO)

It’s not WHEN you walk through the fire, but HOW:

Of all the images from the Miss Universe pageant fiasco, this was the one that struck me most. Not Miss Philippines, who was stunned at the reversal, but Miss Colombia. Why?

Because what was probably her life long dream, she experienced for less than two minutes.
Then, on the world stage, she had it removed when the pageant emcee, Radio and TV Personality Steve Harvey, made a mistake reading the card.

What did Ariadna Gutierrez do?
She smiled.
She dipped slightly with poise and grace and let the pageant representative gingerly remove the crown from her head.
And she smiled.
The crown was passed on to someone else and Miss Colombia..
Smiled.

I can imagine Ariadna longed for an enormous hole to open in the stage so she could disappear into it. It did not.

She was thrust into a moment and she handled it with poise, grace and class.

Miss Colombia understood this: they can take the crown from your head, but you are still a queen.
A lesson for us all.

How do you walk through the fire?

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day.
