*Are you happy at the moment?

I am happy at the moment because it is the holiday season and my family is together and we are in good health.

*If you could go back and say anything to your 16-year-old self now – what would it be?

I would tell my 16 year old self to not worry about what other people say because you are on the right path. You are beautiful just the way you are.

*What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?

The most important thing I have learned this year is I have so much to learn. I have learned from lots of great teachers this year and am excited to take this new knowledge into 2016.

*What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?

In the next 12 months I will take The Ask Dr. Renee Show to a larger platform and work with lots of brands to bring excellent programming to my audience.

*What’s your secret to happiness?

My secret to happiness is that I wake up everyday choosing to be happy. I set my intention before I get out of bed that I will be happy no matter what happens today and it has worked.

*What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?

My faith is what keeps me grounded. I pray everyday all day and without God I would probably have a very large ego because of the places I have lived, seen, and people I know.

*What’s your biggest regret?

My biggest regret is that I had Oprah Winfrey’s undivided attention backstage of her show and I did not say anything I just got foggy in the brain and could not speak a word.

*What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?

I don’t have children.

*What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?

My one bad habit is trying to do everything by myself.

*Aside from motherhood/fatherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?

I am most proud of my persistence. Persistence is how I have attained most of my successes. I hear no but really I hear new opportunity and I go seek that yes.

*When were you happiest?

I was the happiest when I sat on The Oprah Winfrey Show stage for the first time with Ms. Winfrey. I think that is the day I knew that I would one day have my own talk show.

*What ten words best describe you?

Persistence

Leader
Winner
Fighter
Driven
Christian
Loyal
Resourceful
Dependable

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
