modefwGood Enough Mother,
Mira And NYFW! (VIDEO)

I had so much fun playing dress-up earlier this week! I was invited by Mode Media to attend their NYFW party. For those of you not into fashion, NYFW stands for New York fashion Week, where designers show the world what they’ve got for the coming season.

Now those of you who follow me on social media, know I’m kind of a no-frills girl; I spend an inordinate amount of time in gym clothes so for me to get out of those and into some real, adult (read: dress-up clothes) is a pretty cool thing.

Back when I had the big gig I had the great fortune of having a wardrobe stylist. In other words, someone else was on top of the fashions of the moment and she never got it wrong.

Well now that falls squarely on my shoulders and to say it’s sort of hit or miss is a bit of an understatement.

So basically I stick to things that are sleek.

And black.

And that’s just what I did when I was invited to a Mode Media’s Fashion Week party in Manhattan earlier this week.

But I was able to dress up my basic black, conservative outfit with a piece of my favorite arm candy, my Mira Fitness Tracker.

I’ll give you an example; anyone who’s been at one of these cocktail parties knows the star of these soirees is the mini appetizers and cocktails.

YUM!

But too many of those add up and before you know it, you’ve eaten more than your day’s calories while chatting away.

More YUM!

Those who follow me on social media know that I’ve been working very hard to get (and this time stay) in shape. One of the things I have found is that it’s a simple matter of being aware; aware of what we’re eating and how much exercise we’re getting.

That’s where my Mira Fitness Tracker comes in handy.

I took the train into Manhattan.. then the subway and then walked about 12 blocks to the venue. When I got there, I checked the Mira app, which enabled me to make some smart choices when the waiters came around.

Added bonus? The bracelet looks good too!

Staying fit doesn’t mean you have to look like you’re wearing a rubber band around your wrist; your fitness tracker can be functional too!
