Pixie Dust Central:
Walt Disney World Resorts –
A Category For Every Budget

Going on a family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is a once in a lifetime event for so many people. Often times, when I chat with folks who are planning their first vacation there, they are quick to mention that they don’t think they could afford to stay at one of the “on-property” Resort hotels. Upon asking a few more questions, I usually find out that they haven’t priced out the different options yet and have a little bit to learn about what kinds of things to consider.

In last month’s Pixie Dust Central, I gave you a look at 5 Hidden GEM Restaurants At Walt Disney World because every great vacation should have some great food involved, right? There are some decisions to be made with regards to restaurants, so if you haven’t already, be sure to check it out!

When thinking about the different accommodations that are available, it’s important to first decide on how the dynamics of your family work – and also, how those dynamics may change when on vacation. Do you have kids? Do you and your significant other like to have at least a Queen bed or will a double do? What about transportation – are you renting a car or using the Complimentary Resort Transportation? These are some of the important things to think about and below is a look at the three categories of Resort hotels you will find at Walt Disney World.

3. Deluxe Resorts

The Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World are the cream of the crop. Many of these locations have several different transportation choices from buses, boats and monorails and they have prime locations with regards to the Theme Parks. Some are very close to Magic Kingdom Park, others are very close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios where a couple more are close to Animal Kingdom. The feel of each one of these Resorts is so different but the one thing that remains the same throughout them all is the quality of their amenities. You'll find that all of the Deluxe locations have not only cafeteria-style dining, but they also have Table Service locations and some have Signature dining locations as well. I have stayed in each one of the Deluxe Resorts and I just love them all. In fact, if the budget allowed, I would only ever stay at the Deluxe Resorts!

Your transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport is included with the price of all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, so be sure to take that into account as well. Many of the shuttle services charge per person so this can make a big difference.

One last (but really important) thing to remember when you're researching accommodations is that different things are important to each of us. The "is it worth it?" factor varies so much for everyone. While you might not care if the bath towels at the hotel you stay in are thick and plush, that small detail might make the difference for someone else. It's important that you know all of the details so you can make an informed decision.
