Life Lessons:
Honorée Corder
*Are you happy at the moment?
Very! I have reached a perfect balance in my work and between work and family.
*If you could go back and say anything to your 16-year-old self now – what would it be?
If I could go back to my 16-year-old self, I’d tell her “Hang in there. Life right now is not indicative of what life will be life in a few years.”
*What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?
The most important thing I’ve learned this year is that when I remain calm and centered, I can overcome even the biggest challenges.
*What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?
I hope to finish the 7 books on my “to write” list in the next 12 months … and then take a nice long break!
*What’s your secret to happiness?
I decide to be happy every day, and then I do happiness practices {see below} to make sure!
*What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?
I do The Miracle Morning Life SAVERS, based on the book The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. The SAVERS are silence {meditation}, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading positive books, and journaling {scribing}. These six daily practices keep me focused, moving forward and help me deal with life’s opportunities and challenges.
*What’s your biggest regret?
My biggest regret has been waiting so long to lean into my desires and talents.
*What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?
The most important lesson I’ve taught my daughter is that loving yourself and developing self-confidence is critically important.
*What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?
Someday I would like to watch less television, I think it’s a huge time waster… but for me it’s also a way to decompress and spend time with my husband. So there’s that.
*Aside from motherhood/fatherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?
Being able to help people expand and transform into their highest and best selves.
*When were you happiest?
I am the happiest right now that I’ve ever been.
*What ten words best describe you?
Fun, sarcastic, committed, complicated, reflective, decisive, introvert, focused, helpful, encouraging.
Honorée Corder was a single mom for 6 1/2 years. During that time, she rode the wave of struggle to success. She went looking for a book that contained a formula for feeling better, looking better, forgiving her ex and herself, and raising her daughter without feeling so frustrated and like a failure and found nothing. So she combined her skills as a coach, her experiences as a single mom, coached seven single moms and wrote The Successful Single Mom book, which later turned into a series and transformation program! She believes that all single moms have the power within them to create a life they truly love, and she’s on a mission to empower them to do just that. She does her best to be a force for good and aspire to live a life that serves as an example, instead of a warning. *Smile.*
She’s been a successful entrepreneur for almost twenty years, developing a lot of her skills with Shaklee Corporation, then as a business coach, and now as a successful author, executive coach, keynote speaker and corporate trainer. Her mission is to inspire and motivate people to turn their vision and dreams into their real-life reality, sharing a leading-edge process originally created for herself, and then eventually shared with her executive and business coaching clients. Her results-oriented philosophy and ground-breaking 30-Day Jump-Start and STMA 100-day Coaching Programs guarantees clients get the results they want!
