*Are you happy at the moment?

I have happy moments and choose to focus on creating joyful memories with my family.

*If you could go back and say anything to your 16-year-old self now – what would it be?

I would tell my 16-year-old self: Don’t take people, time, resources or opportunities for granted.

*What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?

What I’ve learned so far this year is that I am responsible for how I respond to a situation but not for how someone else reacts to it.

*What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?

I want to launch my #LovesBridgesGap compassion project on Raising Great and the #19DaysofHealing initiative with my business partner, Aleasa Word.

*What’s your secret to happiness?

Playing with my four-year-old son helps me to see the world through his eyes and become more curious about the world.

*What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?

Writing in my gratitude journal keeps me grounded.

*What’s your biggest regret?

Dropping out of Columbia University graduate school.

*What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?

To practice integrity in public and private. Integrity is your badge of honor.

*What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?

I would like to stop feeling the need to prove myself.

*Aside from motherhood/fatherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?

I am most proud of working full-time and going to college full-time while maintaining a 3.5 average.

*When were you happiest?

I was happiest when I was a little girl and I felt that I invincible and unstoppable.

*What ten words best describe you?

Funny, smart, attentive, compassionate, quirky, creative, encouraging, thoughtful, private, and decisive.
