In Case You Missed It:
Weekly Roundup

Happy Friday, GEM readers! We’re so happy to have made it through another week. Although, as you know, we don’t stop with the great content just because the weekend is here. For example, take a look at these two great pieces from last weekend:

Butterfly Pink

Our new 10 From GEM writer, Jackie Psarianos reminded us that we are all very capable of spreading joy to others without a whole lot of effort or cost. Take a look at 10 From GEM: 10 Ways To Practice Random Acts of Kindness for some ideas on how to make this happen and don’t forget to come right back here each Saturday for another 10 From GEM.

With Sam Waterfall

Every Sunday, Dave Manoucheri shares Our Story Begins, a chronicle of his life raising his 4 children as a single dad. If you don’t know much about Dave, one thing I’ll tell you is that he is an avid musician and, as you might expect, BB King’s passing last week hit him pretty hard. Check out Our Story Begins: Who Is Your Hero? for a look at his hero.

Now that I’ve told you about our great weekend columns, let’s get on with the rest of the week!

To start the week off right, Rene herself shares a bit of motivation with us all each Monday because, let’s face it, who doesn’t need a little kick on a Monday? This week, Monday Morning Motivation: 3 Things To Do When You Feel Like Giving Up! is especially helpful if you’re stuck in limbo and think giving up might be an option. Check it out and be sure to let us know if you’d add anything to those 3 things!

Some of you may follow Rene’s #NaturalHair journey and this week, she recommended Love Your Curls By Dove Hair – encouraging women to celebrate their curls and subsequently inspire future generations to do the same. Check it out!

Twice monthly, Wendy Syler writes about a look into her world as a single mom. In this week’s piece, she talked about her role model and asks about yours. So, Who Is Your Role Model? Leave us details in the comments!

If you have been married more than once or married someone who had children from a previous marriage, you’ll want to read Andi Kimbrough’s Live, Love, Blend published monthly. In this month’s piece, Andi ran some numbers and wants to know, Does Your Marriage Add Up? Read her piece and see what I’m talking about.

Did you see the news the other day where basketball player Stephen Curry took his precious little daughter with him to the podium during a press conference? If not, or even if so, check out what Rene has to say about it in Good Enough Mother Salutes: Stephen Curry – we’ve got the video there for you too just in case you didn’t see it. Be sure to take the poll at the bottom!

There are just a couple more days to take part in the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Program voting. If you know of a deserving teen, please read Good Enough Mother: Now Is The Time! Pay It Forward With Your Vote! for details on how to make your vote count.

Happy Weekend from all of us here at GEM Headquarters to all of you out there!

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
