Chronic stress seeps into every facet of our daily lives, making it extremely difficult to avoid. It ultimately, if not addressed, can have an adverse affect our general health and well-being, as stress hormones called adrenaline and cortisol are produced. Beyond that, the body takes on a fight or flight response, making blood vessels constrict which makes your blood pressure rise. This in turn, increases your heart rate which makes your breathing more rapid and you feel great anxiety and pressure.
Your body may progress to further health related issues such as insomnia, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, heart trouble, headaches, gastrointestinal issues, lowered immunity and muscle tension, to name a few side effects.

1. Learn To Minimize Stress

Pare down your list of things to do by eliminating the "shoulds" and by keeping the "musts". Try to avoid topics that get you upset, such as politics or religion. Control your situations, for example, if traffic and congestion on the roadways annoy you, consider taking a quieter route, or if possible, avoid busier commute times. Learn how to reject tasks imposed on you that will complicate and add work to your day, that will ultimately take time away from what you need and want to do. Turn off computers, notifications on your cell phone (no social media), turn off the television set and create quietude. Avoiding all these pesky interruptions will impact your day in a positive manner.
