Use PAIN to POWER You! (VIDEO)

Hey all happy Monday! Welcome to the promise of another day, another week! Hopefully there’s a little but of sunshine in there as we’re dealing with yet ANOTHER snowstorm here in the Northeast, only this one has ICE with it. That’s no joke so, as a result we’re all inside.

Again.

Anyway, let’s get to the business of motivation, shall we?

Did y’all watch the Grammy’s last night? Sam Smith, the British recording star, cleaned up, winning 4 Grammys including song and record of the year as well as best new artist. In his acceptance speech, he thanked a person from his past.

Watch.

Yes, that nasty ex-boyfriend (whoever he is) caused Sam Smith so much pain and heartache that he put pen to paper and it resulted in 4 little statues that mean so much.

Remember when Adele was the big Grammy’s winner a few years back? Her album was also inspired by a heartache so real and palpable. In the end, she too, had the last laugh.

I’m convinced that everyone has a story like that.. I told my own here, remember? As painful as that experience was, it (along with being fired from my job) is one of the things that fuels me day in and day out.

You see, everyone walks through the fire. Everyone is handed a curveball in life. Or hit by one. That’s not what matters. What matters is what you do with it.

Do you curl up in a ball in the corner, crying until the pain eases? Or do you, like Adele, Sam, even me, use that frustration as fuel to further your goals?

How do you handle when life flips the script on you?

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
