Welcome to the last Friday of January, GEM readers! Whoa – that was a quick month, huh?

Did you watch the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) Awards last weekend? Me either, but Rene was really touched by Viola Davis’ acceptance speech and shared Monday Morning Motivation: 3 Things About Viola Davis’ SAG Speech That Give Me Life! (VIDEO). Kudos to Viola!

TV

It’s a pretty scary world we live in and Wendy shared a piece of her weekend about needing to land her helicopter (as in, helicopter mom) in Single Mom Slice of Life: Is That MY KID On The News?!

Lots of great stuff going on with Rene at the gym and if you want to “bring sexy back” into your life, you must check out Bringing SEXY Back! Wanna Be A Fit Mom? Here’s How!

You may remember a spikey conversation that took place on Rene’s Facebook page when things started going down with Bill Cosby and the rape accusations against him. In case you don’t, here’s a piece Rene wrote about Rape, Racism and Teachable Moments so you can get caught up. Go ahead and take a peek – I’ll wait here.

After the smoke settled, a kind woman reached out to Rene and asked if she could share her story about the time she was raped. Please read this week’s Guest Posting: Let Me Tell You About The Day I Was Raped…

No Peanuts

If you have children with allergies, then you know all too well that having them in public schools for any meals or parties can be difficult. In this week’s Tales From A Twin Mom, Julixa shared an Open Letter To The Lunch Packing Parents with some advice on educating kids who don’t have allergies and how sharing their food could be deadly to someone with allergies.

Sure hope you enjoyed the round-up and that you all have a great weekend!

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
