Life Lessons: Kim Hardy

Life Lessons:
Kim Hardy

*Are you happy at the moment?

Yes. I have decided to be happy. Taking this perspective helps me with keeping my emotional equilibrium.

*If you could go back and say anything to your 16-year-old self now – what would

it be? I would tell myself to embrace my uniqueness and to bounce back from mistakes quickly. I would tell myself not to focus on what people think and to go hard after my dreams.

*What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?

Not to underestimate the power of social media and publicity. I’ve learned how to leverage these tools to get my message out to the world.

*What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?

This year my book became a bestseller on Amazon. So my goal in the next 12 months is to have one of my books on the New York Times Bestseller.

*What’s your secret to happiness?

My secret to happiness is loving God and loving myself. I’ve discovered as I do those two things, I don’t depend on others to make me happy. As a result, I am so happy when I am around my family and friends.

*What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?

My faith keeps me grounded. Every morning I read a spiritual truth out of the Bible to keep me focused.

*What’s your biggest regret?

My biggest regret is not living more courageous when I was younger. I gave into my fears and other people’s opinion.

*What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?

Don’t be afraid to be EVERYTHING God created you to be!

*What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?

I have a bad habit of being too judgmental. I’m learning to give people the benefit of the doubt and to ask insightful questions to gain clarity.

*Aside from motherhood/fatherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?

I am most proud of the fact that I am able to help so many people through my writing, speaking and coaching business. Every time I help a person get a breakthrough, my heart leaps for joy.

*When were you happiest?

Wow! Great question. I’m fortunate to have so many times to choose from. I would have to say when I married my husband and the birth of each of our four children. And, also when my latest book hit bestseller on Amazon in 3 categories.

*What ten words best describe you?

Inspiring. Bold. Loving. Funny. Insightful. Expressive. Challenging. Relentless. Encourager. Innovator.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
