Life Lessons:
Felicia Wright

*Are you happy at the moment?

Yes, but ask me again tomorrow!

*If you could go back and say anything to your 16 year old self now – what would it be?

Don’t live your life by what others say, just be YOU!

*What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?

Make sure the people in your life know you love and appreciate them, tomorrow is not promised.

*What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?

Create a legacy for my daughter by instilling in her values and financial security.

*What’s your secret to happiness?

Taking more time to focus and embrace the positive things in my life and not dwell on the negative ones.

*What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?

Praying and surrounding myself with positive supportive people.

*What’s your biggest regret?

Letting fear stop me from pursuing or at least trying new things by stepping out of my comfort zone.

*What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?

To be grateful . . . she’s only two but she knows how and when to say THANK YOU!

*What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?

Trying to change things I have no control over.

*Aside from motherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?

Receiving my MBA, which has helped broaden my scope for more opportunities as an individual and entrepreneur.

*When were you happiest?

A few years ago I went with my husband on a business trip. I did absolutely nothing the whole time. It was one of the few times I felt at peace because even though I say “I’m on vacation”, I seem to find myself worrying about what I have to do when I get back. But that time I took my vacation literally not just physically but also mentally… it was so relaxing and peaceful.

*What ten words best describe you?

Creative, community advocate, reserved, sincere, resourceful, mentor, ambitious, compassionate and encouraging.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
