This is the last weekend of summer. Fall officially starts on Monday at 10:29 PM EST, so get out today and tomorrow and make the most of it. You could say goodbye to summer by planning some of the many cool things you can do in the fall. This is a great season full of activities that you might have avoided in the summer because it was too hot and you want to get them in before it’s too cold. Need some ideas? Keep reading for some family-friendly activities and one that’s just for adults.

2. Make Apple Foods

Now that you’ve brought home all those apples, you have to do something with them. Here are just a few of the many things you can do with apples. You can make apple pie, applesauce, apple butter, apple bread, or apple salsa. You can pickle apples, add them to soups and salads, turn them into marinades, or grill them. You can make juices and ciders, add apples to your smoothies, or infuse vodka with them. Still too many apples to eat? Try some non-food uses of apples like making potpourri or creating unique candle holders.
