Papa’s Pregnancy Poses – Too Much?

A woman’s body is pretty amazing, isn’t it? The fact that we can grow a tiny human being in there is pretty remarkable. In fact, lots of people decide to capture the milestones of pregnancy by having a “Baby Bump Photo Session.” I’ve seen poses where people are doing fun and creative things like holding a sign with how far along they are, a chalkboard with how big the baby is at that stage or tying a giant bow around their pregnant belly.

I remember being pregnant with both kids and I felt like I was as big as a house. Having a photo shoot was the farthest thing from my mind. Looking back now, I wish I had thought of some of the super creative things that people think of these days. I could have maybe managed a pose or two that I would have been OK with.

You may have recently seen some stir on Facebook and Reddit about a pregnant woman who did not want to have her pregnant body photographed so her husband decided to hire a photographer and stepped in to offer his “assistance” if you will.

I about fell out of my chair when I first saw this because it’s just hysterical really. I mean, this guy has a serious sense of humor that cracks me up. On the other hand, I’m seeing that some folks are offended that the man had the audacity to do this.

I personally don’t have an issue with it. I’m not surprised to see that his photos went viral online because it’s not something that I’ve ever seen a man publically display. With all of the serious things we all have to deal with every day, I thought it was just a riot that this man took this matter into his own hands. Out of all the photos in his session, I just wish the one with the man kissing his “pregnant” belly was his wife instead; even if she would have just let the side profile of her face in the photo.

Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
