Right from the start, let me say this: I am a believer.
I believe most people have good hearts.
I believe that most people want to be happy and that it doesn’t take much for them to find that joy.
I believe that, when people team up, they can move mountains and change lives.
And that’s exactly what I and several others are going to do this week.
I have been asked to be part of a group of bloggers and GMC ambassadors to go on a very special yard sale. Even though I’m not a DIY blogger, I do have a decent eye and a serious passion for decorating. If I can do that on a dime, even better. If I can do that and make a difference, well, that’s best of all.
Later this week, I’m going to have a chance to do exactly that when I get behind the wheel of a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali and drive from Atlanta, Georgia to Cincinnati, Ohio as part of the GMC Hidden Treasure Adventure.
Sounds interesting right? Here’s how it’s all gonna go down:
Who we are:
and yours truly!
What we’ll do:
Drive and shop.. shop and drive.. how great is THAT? We’re going to be putting serious pavement under those tires as we haggle for bargains all the way from Georgia to Ohio along The World’s Longest Yard Sale – The 127 Corridor Sale.
Why we’re doing it:
Here’s where Habitat for Humanity comes in. Once our Yukons are stuffed to the brim with bargain goodies, we’re going to decorate two Habitat for Humanity homes for two very deserving families. As much as I love the prospect of bargain/yard sale/flea market shopping, this is the part that I’m most excited about. Why? Well, just watch as the group opened the doors of the newly decorated home to a mother and her children.
Please keep our little group in your thoughts and prayers as we aim to stay safe, find some great deals and give some folks a great start in their new homes!
