Happy Monday everyone…. hope yours is off to a great start!

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and truth be told, wishing. I find myself, in those moments of uncertainty, wishing for a time in the not-too-distant past when I worked for a big media company and took home a regular paycheck.

Ahhhh yes.. the good, old days.

Actually they weren’t always so great but that’s selective perception for you, isn’t it?

Most of those thoughts typically come when I’m tired. Or my bank account is overdrawn.

And I think, “To hell with it.. why don’t I just go with what I know? Why not just go back to TV News?

Then I remember why..

Not going back is one thing but going forward is something entirely different.

In my own experience, I have honed in on (at least) 3 reasons we are resistant to take that journey along The Road Less Traveled. Read on… and see if you agree.

1. Blazing Trails Is Hard Work

Have you ever been on a hike? If you have, you know that, as soon as you step off the beaten path, the terrain gets tough. You have to pay close attention to your footing and it's generally a more difficult journey. It's the same in life or career; there are no shortcuts and the work must be meticulous with progress measured in inches not miles. As someone who's been there, I can say firsthand, that's frustrating.
