Hey y’all! It’s time to rise and shine again! That’s right.. another Monday which means another chance to make your mark on the world.

Working for yourself.. being your own boss.. sounds really great right? We see entrepreneurs once they’re terribly successful; they have money and staff and people to help at every turn.

You know what you don’t see?


Setting my alarm for 5 am so I can write today’s content on Good Enough Mother.

Or my husband, Buff, who’s up at 5:30 so he can get map out his day.

So I got thinking about the things that separate entrepreneurs from the rest of the world. In the near decade that Good Enough Mother has been around (yes, nearly a decade) here are the 5 things I have learned and why most people will never work for themselves.


5. They Are Externally Motivated

Some people are not cut out to work for themselves because they get their motivation from something other than within. It could be a paycheck, approval from others or any myriad other reasons but the fact remains, it's not coming from them. They're going to color between the lines, follow the rule and wait for someone to tell them what to do.
