MotivationMonday Morning Motivation:
5 Things To Help You Through A Monday (And Life!)

Hola my peeps!

Happy Monday! It’s the start of a REALLY big week around here. Some of you who follow me on Facebook know that I am making a pretty big TV appearance this week; ABC executives asked if I would guest co-host The View! Of course I said yes, so that’s where I will be this Thursday. Check your local listings and make sure to tune in.

In a funny coincidence, my sister, Tracy Syler-Jones, was in town last weekend and we went out to dinner, later stumbling upon this lounge in the city. Of course, we took it as a sign and, also of course, took a picture.

Rene at The View (Not THAT one..)

The appearance on The View is quite interesting with regard to timing. It reminds me that there is a time and a season for everything.

You see 7 years ago, my life was turned inside out and upside down. I was fired from my high-profile gig as one of the anchors on the CBS Early Show. As you know, I have spent the last several years (almost a decade now) rebuilding my life and career, starting with pouring my energy into Good Enough Mother.

TV is my first love and I always thought I would go back. And yet, as the years went on, it seemed opportunities that were once there, dried up and no new ones were on the horizon.

So I pressed on; Good Enough Mother flourished.. and so did I.

Then, when I least expected it, when I was not paying attention, came the call to fill in on The View.

I learned a lot in that time, about me and about life.

So for today’s Monday Morning Motivation, I want to share with you 5  of my favorite lessons.

1. If It Were Easy.....

As some of you know by following my Instagram, I have been on a mission of late, to regain my body and health. It's been incredibly difficult, in part because of my age, but also because the work is hard. But then I look around me and remember that it's not something most people undertake. Why? Because it's freaking HARD! The things in life worth having are worth working hard for and that includes fitness and career. Not everyone has the intestinal fortitude to achieve peak physical shape.. or to rebuild their lives and career.
