Pixie Dust Central: 6 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer At Walt Disney World

Pixie Dust Central:
6 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer
At Walt Disney World

When I think about Central Florida in the summer, all I can think about is what a scorcher it is down there. I absolutely LOVE vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort, but I have to admit, the summer is my least favorite of all times to head toward the magic. It’s one thing when it’s just hot, but when you add the humidity in on top of it, it really kills me.

As the kids are getting older, it has become increasingly difficult to have them miss a day or two of school during other times of the year where the temperature is more bearable. It was a whole lot easier when they were little! The teachers back then were much more willing to give out make-up work too. Some of them would even put together a packet and let us take it with us for the kids to turn in once we returned from our vacation. Those days are over.

I finally decided that it was time to research how other people stay cool during the summer months when vacationing at Walt Disney World and I thought I’d share with you what I’ve discovered.

6. Enjoy Some Ice Cream

My last [but certainly not least] tip for staying cool during a summertime vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort is to partake in some of the fantastic ice cream treats that are available. Whether you're in the mood for a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar or you want the whole Kitchen Sink, there is something for everyone. See all of the fun, retro decor in the photo above? That shot was taken at the 50's Prime Time Café where you can find the famous Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake! It may sound crazy, but it's delicious!

If you or someone you know is planning a summertime vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida this summer, I sure hope these tips help with staying cool!

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
