Pixie Dust Central: 6 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer At Walt Disney World

Pixie Dust Central:
6 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer
At Walt Disney World

When I think about Central Florida in the summer, all I can think about is what a scorcher it is down there. I absolutely LOVE vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort, but I have to admit, the summer is my least favorite of all times to head toward the magic. It’s one thing when it’s just hot, but when you add the humidity in on top of it, it really kills me.

As the kids are getting older, it has become increasingly difficult to have them miss a day or two of school during other times of the year where the temperature is more bearable. It was a whole lot easier when they were little! The teachers back then were much more willing to give out make-up work too. Some of them would even put together a packet and let us take it with us for the kids to turn in once we returned from our vacation. Those days are over.

I finally decided that it was time to research how other people stay cool during the summer months when vacationing at Walt Disney World and I thought I’d share with you what I’ve discovered.

2. Hang Out In Typhoon Lagoon's Wave Pool

I've been to quite a few wave pools in my life, and the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is one of the very best. As a matter of fact, it's North America's largest wave pool with 6-foot swells! I've often forgotten that I'm not out at the ocean when I'm in the wave pool because the waves rival those of Mother Nature.

My family has spent hours in this wave pool and had the time of our lives. The waves are bigger in some parts and smaller in other areas. We find it fun to explore the different parts of the pool and find our favorite spots to catch that perfect wave.

It's important to note that if you or someone in your family is not a strong swimmer, you're able to hang out at the edge where the water is calm.

Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
