Pixie Dust Central: 6 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer At Walt Disney World

Pixie Dust Central:
6 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer
At Walt Disney World

When I think about Central Florida in the summer, all I can think about is what a scorcher it is down there. I absolutely LOVE vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort, but I have to admit, the summer is my least favorite of all times to head toward the magic. It’s one thing when it’s just hot, but when you add the humidity in on top of it, it really kills me.

As the kids are getting older, it has become increasingly difficult to have them miss a day or two of school during other times of the year where the temperature is more bearable. It was a whole lot easier when they were little! The teachers back then were much more willing to give out make-up work too. Some of them would even put together a packet and let us take it with us for the kids to turn in once we returned from our vacation. Those days are over.

I finally decided that it was time to research how other people stay cool during the summer months when vacationing at Walt Disney World and I thought I’d share with you what I’ve discovered.

1. Build A Sand Castle On The Beach

There are lots of wonderful, sandy beaches at some of the Parks and Resorts at Walt Disney World where you can put your toes in the sand while your kiddos build sand castles. Take a break from the heat by taking a quick dip in the pool. Three of my very favorite sandy beaches at Walt Disney World are located:

* at Disney's Old Key West Resort

* at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

* at the sandy-bottom Stormalong Bay Pool located at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

Now, these are just a few of my favorites, but get out there and discover yours!

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
