Star Wars Weekends At Walt Disney World (Video)

If you or anyone in your family is a Star Wars fan and you also love Disney Parks vacations, I’ve got some great news for you! There is a fantastic event that is taking place RIGHT NOW down at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida that you may not be aware of. The event is happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for five consecutive weekends (every Friday, Saturday and Sunday) each year and will return this year from May 16-June 15, 2014 for the park’s annual Star Wars Weekends!

Star Wars Weekends are spread out into a bit over a month-long galactic event jam-packed with out-of-this-universe appearances and entertainment and your favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios attractions. More than 60 characters from the Star Wars saga appear in the Theme Park, and each evening will end with “Symphony in the Stars,” a special pyrotechnics salute to the films. For those of you who don’t visit Walt Disney World often, this is a really special treat because this is typically the only time where you can see any type of fireworks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

New this year, you can celebrate the Star Wars saga while dining with your favorite Disney characters at Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine at Hollywood & Vine. Dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters, Mickey and friends will meet and greet during a delectable dinner buffet featuring Star Wars-themed food, music and décor. You can also start your day with the Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. It’s a long time ago at a drive-in far, far away, where out-of-this-world breakfast delicacies are accompanied by surprise visits from Star Wars characters and thrilling movie moments from the Star Wars films. Both dining experiences started May 4 and will continue daily, including event weekends, through June 15. Prices range from $29.99-$59.99, include a digital photograph and may be booked by calling 407.WDW.DINE [939.3463].

Continuing the galactic experience, Star Wars celebrities will make special appearances in star conversations, autograph sessions and photo opportunities throughout each day. Also a highlight: the “Legends of the Force” parade, which features a cavalcade of Star Wars characters, Disney characters and more parading down Hollywood Blvd. Fans also get the chance to purchase limited-edition and event-exclusive items in “Darth’s Mall.”

There are also some special cupcakes and other treats that are being prepared just for this galactic occasion. Our friends at Disney Parks are so very creative and they’ve taken the Dark Side to a whole new level at the bakery. Take a look for yourself…

If it’s too late for you to attend this year’s Star Wars Weekends, fear not, there’s ALWAYS next year. Not to mention, I have a list of reasons that you need to plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
