My Husband Walked Out On Us..
How Do I Get Over Him?

My husband of 15 years left our daughter and I seven months ago. He just went golfing and never came home. When we found him he stated he had gotten an apartment that he was done and said there was no one else. About a week later my 13-year-old daughter found out that he had been having an affair with another woman with 2 kids. She is 13 years younger than me. The girlfriend has since moved 1,500 miles away but he still travels to visit her once a month. I need some advice on how to get over him. As crazy as this may sound if he wanted to come home I would let him. I am heart broken.

Dear Crying:

I know you’re heart-broken and your daughter is  too as you try to figure out your new normal. Your husband thought only of himself as he walked out the door, leaving a trail of wreckage in his wake. Now he’s moved on, leaving you with a busted-up heart and a bunch of questions. I wish there was an easy answer;  nevertheless, here’s what I would do if I were you and it involved, talking, talking and talking some more.

1. TALK TO YOUR HUSBAND

Now that he's come clean about his situation, the least your husband could do is explain a bit. The two of you spent 15 years together building a life and family; he doesn't get to just waltz out without a word. Well, he shouldn't unless he is lacking decency and moral fiber, which, judging by his actions, he very well could be.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
