Happy Labor Day! The Secret To Great Ribs? THIS!


We aren’t! Just a quick check in to say HAPPY LABOR DAY!  Hope you’re taking a moment to enjoy it with your family and friends. I’m taking the day off but not Buff, who’s been working hard all weekend to make sure no one goes hungry around here. To that end, I thought I’d let you in on his carnivore crowd-pleaser. So here you go, Buff’s famous, 4-step ribs.

1. Cut pork rib racks in half, put them in a  large pot with water a 1 cup of white vinegar and then bring to boil. Turn the heat down and let them steep for 15 minutes.Take them out of the water and peel the thin sheath off which should  come right off. Let them cool.

2. Prepare your favorite dry rub (Buff wouldn’t tell me what’s in his so you’re on your own for this). Sprinkle liberally on ribs then wrap tightly in foil and place in refrigerator for at least 12 hours.

3. Take ribs out of refrigerator and bring the to room temperature. Next, preheat oven to 300 degrees and place ribs on rack inside roasting pan. Cover pan with lid and let bake for 2 1/2 hours. While they’re baking, prepare your wet sauce (sorry, another Buff secret). Take ribs out of oven and sauce them.

4. Put ribs on grill for about 10 minutes each side (really hot grill). CAUTION! Don’t let them burn which can happen since there’s sugar in the sauce (oops.. he let that part slip). ENJOY!
