From Good Enough Mother To You.. Happy Father’s Day, Guys!

Hey all, I just wanted to check in very quickly and wish you the happiest of Dad’s days. You totally deserve it!

I was reading Will’s advice to Dan, a man who was absolutely miserable in his job, and something he said in it really hit me because it reminded me so much of the men in my life, my husband of 18 years and my late father.

…. but I wish I could buy a beer for every man and woman in America who drags their butt to work every day to put food on the table for his or her family. There’s honor in that, whether you sit in The Oval Office or pass French fries through a drive-up window. So, if no one else has said it in a while, “Thank you for doing your job.”

YES! Yes, yes and yes! So this is a quick message from me to my male GEMs. Thank you for all you do. That is all.

Will Jones and family.

William,
You are everything that a father should be. You are a real man, strong, dependable, understanding, wise, and so much more. After 20 years, I am still so proud of the man that you are. I am inspired by how you guide our children, showing them everyday what a father truly is. You lead our family with love and commitment. I am honored to be your wife and stand by your side always. I want to thank you for being my husband, my best friend, and the greatest father to our children. Your wife, Shanterri.

I hope Shanterri doesn’t mind me piggy backing off her words here but I think she sums it up so beautifully. Dave, I know if Andrea were here, she would have the same sentiment. I feel so fortunate to have Buff in my real life and you guys sharing with us online. I hope you have a terrific day and like Will said to Dan, if no one’s said “Thank you” lately, we’re sayin’ it now. Thank you for all you do!

What’s the thing you’re most thankful for about the man in your life?

My dad worked at the same company for 45 years! I get my loyalty from him I’m sure. That’s not what I’m most thankful for, but you mentioned thanking people for working so…

And Joelle’s dad held me down whilst I was unemployed so that is another work related thing I appreciate 😉

Wow. Didn’t see that coming. It kind of choked me up a bit. I’m not sure what to say! Dad and a husband are the best things I’ve ever gotten to be. Nothing else I ever do will bring me half as much pure joy. Thank you to my wonderful wife, Shanterri, and my beautiful kids for putting up with my madness for all these years. I love you all.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
