Say “hello” to Tosi Ufodike. Tosi is a twitter friend who has taken a lot of the stress out of finding a nanny. This entrepreneur, host of the Dare2Aspire conference, wife and mother of two has a lot on her hands, and we are proud to present her Life Lessons on how she handles it all. Remember, we want to know what you have to share. Drop us a line and we will get the questions out to you.
Are you happy at the moment?
Yes. I am happy but not content. I think when you get content you remain stagnant. Everyday I strive for becoming better and learning more.
If you could go back and say anything to your 16-year-old self now – what would it be?
Don’t worry, be happy.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?
I have learned to say NO. Last year, I was pulled in so many directions, whether it was church, business forums, mommy clubs, hubby requests, children requests, etc. I was so busy and tired. I put myself second. In 2012, my number one priority is my health and well-being.
What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?
I would love for my upcoming conference, Dare 2 Aspire 2012 to be a huge success. The premise behind it is phenomenal, Moms and Dads daring to aspire by starting a small business. I look forward to meeting some great men and women on March 10th 2012.
What’s your secret to happiness?
Having faith in God.
What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?
Traveling to Nigeria, West Africa. Everytime I go to the village and see all the little things missing there that we often take for granted here in America; I am humbled.
What’s your biggest regret?
Interesting question….hmmm. I wish I could have spent more time with my Father; however some things are beyond one’s control. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?
To love God. He is the source of all happiness, joy, of everything. I talk to my children about God every day.
What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?
I am a micromanager. I like things done my way and on my schedule. I need to learn how to delegate and have patience.
Aside from motherhood/fatherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?
My health journey. Last year I was diagnosed with a herniated and bulging disc. The pain was so severe that I ended up not being able to walk, stand, or even bath myself. I was extremely overweight and it caught up with me. I had back surgery and to make a long story short, I have lost close to 40 pounds. I am walking again and focused on my health! I give all glory to God. He is truly able.
When are you happiest?
When I am with my girls. They are 5 and 3 and so full of life and personality. I learn from them everyday. I am humbled by their intelligence. I love them dearly. We learn, play, and grow together. I like the little things they do and say. Trying to understand the world from their perspective is so much fun.
What ten words best describe you?
Wife, Mommy, God-fearing, Resilent, Loyal, Attractive, Hard Working, Driven, Leader, & Direct.
