So you read about Chris Brogan in yesterday’s Life Lessons and how I shared the stage with him at Disney Social Media Moms conference earlier this year. Well, another cool person who came into my orbit as a result of that was Cindy Schultz. She’s a cool lady who secured a forever place in my heart when she started an online campaign to get lil’ ol’ me on Dancing with the Stars, my guilty pleasure. Anyway, read on about Cindy and remember if you want to take part in this, drop us a line!

Are you happy at the moment?

Yes, I am relatively happy all of the time.

If you could go back and say anything to your 16 year old self now – what would it be?

Don’t do it! Pre-marital sex isn’t worth the lifetime of scars you carry with you into your marriage. No guy that threatens to break up with you if you don’t sleep with him is worth a single second of your time.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?

I’ve learned that I can say “No” to people and activities that demand too much of my time. I no longer feel guilty about putting my priorities before everyone else’s.

What do you most want to achieve in the next 12 months?

I want to learn to properly use the camera I got for Christmas last year. It is time to move away from the automatic settings.

What’s your secret to happiness?

My secret to happiness is to keep the bigger picture in mind. I no longer sweat the small stuff. My goals are to please God and serve my family and those in my sphere of influence.

What one ritual or practice keeps you grounded?

Spending time with God through prayer, Bible reading, praise and worship.

What’s your biggest regret?

My biggest regret is having to leave college because I got pregnant. Then my daughter was sick when she was born and only lived 2 days. It was the most difficult time in my life.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve taught your kid(s)?

That your eternity is more important than your present so always live to honor God and His commands first.

What bad habit would you most like to change about yourself?

I’m messy. I’d love to be able to keep a neat and tidy house. I work on this a lot but the one area of my life that I don’t succeed in keeping organized is my home.

Aside from motherhood and marriage what are you most proud of in your life?

I am most proud of graduating college. I was the first one in my family to get my Bachelors Degree and I had to overcome a lot to go back to school after my daughter died. I had lost my scholarships when I withdrew from school. I worked 3 jobs to pay my way through my final 2 years and finished my degree debt free.

When were you happiest?

I was happiest on May 18, 1988-The day I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and He washed my past sins away and welcomed me into His family.

What ten words best describe you?

Christ follower, fun loving, passionate, loyal, leader, musician, teacher,  student, friend, mom
