Product Review: ANTI-AGE By Rodan And Fields

A friend of mine reached out to me the other day about a product she wanted me to try and since I think of myself as the daring sort, I was game.  She sent me several products from the ANTI-AGE line from Rodan and Fields. Truth be told, I don’t know much about R and F, only that they were the two women behind Proactiv Solution, which Casey and pretty good success with when she used it like she was supposed to. So I thought I would give it a go. Before I do here are the facts.

ABOUT MY SKIN AND ME:

*I am 48 years old (49 in February).

*I have normal to dry skin.

*I currently see a dermatologist once a month for microdermabrasion  (and the occasional Botox. Yes!).

*I use Retin A for cystic acne.

*My skincare regimen consists of falling asleep with my make-up on (I know, I KNOW!).

ABOUT MY PLAN:

*I am going to try the R + F line for 30 days.

*I will not be seeing the dermatologist during this time.

*I will not be using the Retin A during this time.

*I will attempt to drink at LEAST 6 glasses of water a day.

*I will attempt to get 4 days of exercise a week.

So, today was day one. The plan is simple; heck the bottles are even numbered so you know which is first and which is last. Step one was the daily cleanser mask. I used a bit and really got a good scrub and loved it. I may have scrubbed a bit too much because as you can see, my face was a little pink afterward.

Then I used the Pore Minimizing Toner and followed with the Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30. I then spent the day without makeup.

WHAT I NOTICED:

*They are quality products without a lot of scent. Bonus in my book.

*As I said I was a little pink following the Daily Cleansing Mask but that could have been my with my Kung Fu grip. I’ll be more gentle tomorrow.

*My skin felt clean but not dry.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS:

When I went to the company’s website, I saw the products I have cost just under 200.00 which is not cheap. As I said my typical skincare regimen is pretty basic, consisting of a cleanser (typically Dove soap), a little moisturizer (whatever’s within reach) and sunscreen which I do splurge on,  because nothing will make you look older than sun damaged skin.  So my two big questions are, how long this will last and what the results will be. Stay tuned.

Disclaimer: Rodan and Fields is a direct sales company and I did not pay for the products I review. However, being the straight shooter I am, all opinions are my own.

The Rodan +Fields products ARE great! I used their REVERSE line to take away my sun damage. Starting in January, overnight wrinkle eraser patches called Acute Care will be available, too. They are already featured in Bazaar magazine.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
