What goes through one’s mind when, sitting uncomfortably across from the doctor, she tells you the words that you knew were coming but still take your breath away? “You have cancer.” Shock, disbelief, fear are just a couple of the thoughts. How do I know? Because my friend Florence told me.
A year ago, she was given that diagnosis. This last year she fought like hell, harder than she ever has for anything in her life. And when we met for a bite to eat last weekend, I asked her if she’d tell me more.
