Good Enough Mother never likes to be far from a TV so on our JetBlue flight back from Duke University I had a chance to take in some of the fine offerings coming up this fall. You already know my approach to parenting – do the best you can and punt when you have to – which is why these two shows appeal to me.
The first is the new Fox show Raising Hope, which made me laugh out loud (at least the trailer did). It stars Lucas Neff as a young man who ends up with a baby after a romantic encounter with a woman who turns out to be a convicted felon. Martha Plimpton plays his no-nonsense mom and Cloris Leachman looks to be hilarious as his grandmother.
I had never seen The Middle before I was stuck in that metal tube hurtling toward JFK at 29,000 feet but I have to say I liked it! ABC characterizes it as a show about “raising a family and lowering your expectations”. CH-CHING! That IS Good Enough Mother! Plus I love Patricia Heaton.
Oh geez, I can totally see myself in this one!
I’m always looking for a good show to watch as I drink my wine and hide from my kids – so if you have any favorites send them my way! What will you be watching when the Fall TV season starts up again…?
