A big hello and howdy to all the GEMs in Columbia, South Carolina! I drove over from Charleston for a few days to get away from my kids to do some media, sell a few books and continue in my unabashed pursuit of world domination.  Or a nap.  So far the world domination is shaping up to be an easier pursuit.

The day started early with a visit to NBC10 in Columbia. The lovely Brandi Cummings interviewed me about all things Good Enough Mother. She was such a sweetie with nary a gray hair or wrinkle. That’s because she has no children.

If you are in Columbia and want to share stories of parenting foibles, come out tonight to Books-A-Million at The Village at Sandhill shopping center in Northeast Richland County.

It starts at 7 and yes that is smack dab in the middle of Wine-Thirty. We will make up for it later.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
