When was the last time you had hope?
I mean hoped REALLY hard for something?
The kind of hope that has you smiling at the prospect of what can be; the kind of hope that even keeps disappointment at bay?
I have seen that hope over the last several months. You see, my son is graduating from high school in a few short months. He has applied to several colleges and universities and it’s now that time when letters of acceptance (or rejection, yikes) flood the mailbox.
Every day it was the hope of hearing from one of them that had Cole racing to the mailbox.
In watching my youngest wait for a clue about what his future would entail, it made me realize what a powerful thing hope is.
It’s big and it’s beautiful and now I have had a chance to see it a second time; the first when my daughter went through the same process last year.
So when Coca-Cola asked me to partner with them again this year for the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Program, I jumped at the chance.
Why? Because it’s about hope.
This year the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Program will award up to 25 deserving high school teens and their mom (or other parent/legal guardian) a $5,000 scholarship and the opportunity to attend the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy in Atlanta—a weekend of mentorship and memories. Join the conversation and help us change a high school teen’s future.
The Coca-Cola Academy is a 3-day event designed to give deserving teens and their parents the structure and tools to succeed in their future academic lives. Invaluable workshops include everything from how to be successful in school to financial aid workshops (and trust me you’ll want to know this information!).

What: The Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Program
Who is eligible: High school students, ages 13 and older.
When to apply: Go here—-> The Coca-Cola Pay It Forward website is live and people can submit nominations online through March 31, 2016.
Winners attend the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy which will take place in Atlanta, GA, Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24. Note that winners will be required to arrive on July 21, 2016 in order to participate in orientation activities prior to the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy.
