Love Your Curls By Dove Hair (VIDEO)

By now many of you know my natural hair story but for those who do not a quick recap. After relaxing my hair straight for more than three decades, I went natural after a hospitalization and subsequent relaxer that had my hair breaking off and falling out.

My natural hair journey has been one of the most rewarding things in my life and it’s helped me help my own daughter embrace her curls.

Now Dove Hair launches the NEW Love Your Curls book as a continuation of its commitment to inspire women and girls to love their curls and I was fortunate enough to receive a copy!

Earlier this year Dove Hair launched the Love Your Curls film to encourage women to celebrate their curls and subsequently inspire future generations to do the same. As an extension of this commitment, Dove Hair is launching Love Your Curls the booka poetic tribute to curly hair inspired by the thousands of stories, photos and messages from real women and girls that poured in as a result of the campaign.

Written by best-selling author, Taiye Selasi, and award-winning illustrator, Annick Poirier, the beautifully illustrated book of poems is intended to represent and encourage curly girls of all ages.

Combing the aisles at Target in search of the best deal on Cheerios, it hit Rene Syler like the stench of a dirty diaper on a hot summer’s day. Not only is perfection overrated its utterly impossible! Suddenly empowered, she figuratively donned her cape, scooped up another taco kit for dinner and Good Enough Mother was born.
