The Lupus Foundation of America estimates that 1.5 million Americans, at least five million people worldwide, have some form of lupus. Men and women of all ages are diagnosed with lupus but 90% of patients are women. Let’s find out more information so we can all help to spread the word about lupus.

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years. In lupus the immune system begins to attack and destroy healthy tissue in the body.
