Beauty From The Inside Out:
Skin 101…Cleansing Tips From The Experts

Fall is right around the corner and it is time to start getting our skin nourished and ready for the cooler months. We’ve been exposing ourselves to sun throughout the season, where some vitamin D is nourishing, but skin can also take a beating due to overexposure. Cleansing is a very important step when it comes to healthy skin and it’s important to have the right product. I had a chance to sit down with some of the top beauty experts in the industry for cleansing tips and how to get our skin looking fabulous for fall.

When it comes to skin throughout all seasons especially summer, it is important to maintain a regular cleansing schedule that includes moisturizing too. “Having a good skin care regime is the key to having good looking makeup,” explains celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff. For those with oily skin moisturizing is just as important. “Don’t make the mistake of bypassing a moisturizer because of fear that it will make your skin look oiler,” she continues. When choosing a moisturizer it is important to find one that is specific for your skin type. “Using the wrong products could easily make your skin condition worse,” says celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert Denise Tunnell. When it comes to choosing a moisturizer, Sheriff suggests using products with healthy skin oils like avocado, mango, Shea, or coconut. “These items are extremely healthy and have great skin benefits.”

One more thing: Tunnell reminds us regardless of the season it is essential to “always use a sunscreen to avoid the damaging sun rays.”
