The other night my husband and I invited some old friends over for dinner. After the meal, the kids went out the play and the adults all gathered around the table to catch up, given that we hadn’t seen each other in a while.
The husbands were reminiscing about how they used to get together and enjoy fine wine and cigars when the other husband (not mine) made a shocking admission:
He’s swapped cigars for pot!
My husband and I were taken aback by this confession especially when he went on to explain that he gets it from his neighbors (or shares with them) and smokes it in the house! The wife didn’t say if she smoked as well but my assumption is that she may indulge too.
I was dumbfounded by their admission and honestly am trying to figure out what to do now.
Should we continue to let our children play at their home knowing that the father (and possibly mother) could be smoking in the house? What if he might perhaps be high while driving them around or his kids might come across his stash and share with our kids?
Am I overly concerned, overreacting (as my husband says), just a fuddy duddy or should I put some boundaries on this rekindled friendship?

Hmm, well now this is an interesting dilemma. Frankly the only thing that surprises me is that I haven’t heard this before, given that marijuana use is legal in some states. Still you have some decisions to make so to that end, here’s what I would do if I were you.
