GEM Recommends:
Disney Oz The Great And Powerful (VIDEO)

Happy Friday!  What are you guys planning to do this weekend?  Well, the Head GEM is traveling back from San Diego where she was filming another episode of Sweet Retreats.  Me?  I haven’t the foggiest, but look at what just showed up in my inbox!

Disney Oz The Great And Powerful raked in $150 million last weekend globally and is slated to win box offices this weekend as well.  The Disney team did it again with this prequel to The Wizard Of Oz which focuses on how The Wizard got to Oz and what he does with all that power before he meets Dorothy.

I haven’t had a chance to see it, but it was recommended to me by Susan Pazera, who screened it as a part of a Disney Parks Blog event.  She told me “seeing the land of Oz in 3D is something you don’t want to miss.”  I can imagine the visuals with such a well written and thought out plot it would be right up my alley.  Finding out the rest of the story is always very fascinating and this new wave of prequels and retellings is a writer’s dream; I feel like there is always some other story to be told.  And did you see all that action and color contrast in the trailer (I love the old school gray/green splashes)?  Yep.  Right up my alley.

So what about you?  Are you going to join the legions talking about this film around the water cooler on Monday or have you set up other plans?  Tell us!  Oh, and if you do make it to see Disney Oz The Great And Powerful don’t forget to check back in with us on Monday and let us know what you thought.
