A Moment To Say THANKS!

By   /   November 13, 2011  /   3 Comments

Hola GEMs!

Whew, the Head GEM has been working so hard lately (as I’m sure you have too) but I must take a moment to say thanks. Our team of talented writers, Rachel, Will and Wendy are really hitting their stride, cranking out great columns, which add voice and texture to Good Enough Mother. If you’d like to submit a piece to run on the site, click here for guidelines and send in your ideas.

We had a couple of new advertisers come on board so make sure you check out DB Children Books and Pink Kitchen and the great stuff they’re doing. Also, just in time for the holidays, look at these cute shirts by our advertiser OKLLO; they’re like wearable history lessons! And of course, who could forget Hair Rules? I know I can’t! If you want to buy a little space on the site, click here and someone from Team GEM will get back to you.

Speaking of Team GEM, due to the travel, external writing projects as well as for the site, pitches and projects I have coming up, I’ve had to hire some full-time help!  Ella Rucker is not only good, but she’s a real GEM too, juggling family, kids and career. So she’ll be helping out a lot around here.

All of the pieces of the Good Enough Mother puzzle are finally coming together and we’re on track to have a record-breaking traffic month! Twitter and Facebook followers exploded recently, which tells me there must be a little something to this whole, “Imperfect Parenting” thing.  We’ve got other good news to report but feel it only prudent to wait until the ink is dry and the check has cleared before making the formal announcement. Just know that after years of starts and stops, it looks like the train is leaving the station and instead of leaving the tracks, a crucial difference.

At the end of the day, it couldn’t be done without you, the readers to whom I owe so much. You really do keep me going by reading the pieces and commenting. Thank you for believing in me, not just halfway, but all the way.

MWAH! Rene
